New Years Stuff Part II

New Years Stuff Part II

In my opinion it’s still ok to say, Happy New Year. I pretty much make sure I say it to all my friends, relatives, and clients throughout the month of January.

After my previous post,  work in voiceover land got off to a rousing start for the new year. I’ve been busy voicing, and not writing. And that’s a very good thing.

So while the new year is still young, I’m going to share additional thoughts about resolution frenzy and what I’m doing about the whole matter.  Once again, my mentor Darren Hardy talks about resolutions, clarifying what comes next.

All about the Process

On New Year’s Day, my husband and I took a nice long walk. When we returned, we each wrote down only three big personal and ambitious  goals.  Then we discussed the method, or process in which our goals could be achieved.  For instance, if you want to lose weight, the process would be to eat, say fifteen hundred calories per day  the process is all about what must be done first to get to the goal.

Systems check

Focus on the system instead of the goal to get to your goal. And learn how to avoid distractions that can interfere with progress.

  • Focus on growth
  • Strive to get a little bit better each day.  Improve daily.

The bottom line is this:

So seize the year! Worry less about big goals or resolutions. Instead, focus on the process  and system that’s going to get you there.

Enjoy the 2017 new year adventure in learning and growth. Be wiser tomorrow than you are today.

Happy new year!
