Well I just returned from Wisconsin, where I spent a week on personal rental property business. I didn’t take my home studio with me, only a traveling USB mic for short auditions. You see, the Pretty Lake home has only a dial up connection, which drives home the absolute coolness of the ADSL I have here in California.
Well I arrived last Tuesday and the weather was typical spring. Slightly overcast and temps in the mid 50’s. The weather indicated a “winter storm watch”, which turned out to be a major snowstorm. By Wednesday afternoon there was 7″ of snow. This is the view of the lake, Wed. PM.
Later afternoon Wednesday, snow had slowed down….
About the same vantage point—-
Next morning at Pretty Lake WI.
Thankfully, most of the snow had melted and it was time to get to work. It was too cold to work outside for a California thin-blooded wimp like me, so I stayed inside, auditioning and sending files over a very SLOW 44k baud rate dial-up.
This was the same storm that tracked east, creating a vicious Nor’easter the following two days.
Well now I am back in sunny So. Cal., and it’s time to get back to the business. I am still digging out from a pile of mail and a backlog of jobs from my “regulars”, with a couple of new ones, too. I managed to get everything recorded, invoiced, and filed. But my “to do” list is still huge. More later as I get back into the full flow of my life: “Full Tilt Boogie”
