I can’t believe it is August. It isn’t, already?
August 2, is the day my mother passed away, in 1981. I always remember this day, sadly. Some years I am better emotionally about this fact than others.
This year, I haven’t had too much time to be sad or melancholy. Perhaps that’s a good thing. Life and work has become increasingly busy, which seems to make time go by so quickly. Wow. It’s been 26 years.
Professionally, I have been blessed with loads of work this week. Huzza! It isn’t this way every week.
This week is special, also, because we have family in town. That makes life extra wonderful, and then I don’t have time to be too sad.
My mother was wonderful. She took time with me, and was so excited for me when I was hired into my first radio gig. I’ll be forever grateful for the numerous occasions she reminded me when I was little, to correctly enunciate my words!
I still think of her each time I hear “Hey Jude”. It was her favorite tune whenever I played it on the radio.
My oldest daughter and her family (the grandbabies) are here, and now I am going to spend some time, reading to the kids (practicing my characters-heh-heh) and honoring family time. It really goes by so fast.
My mother would be pleased.

Hi Bobbin:
July 31st was the 19th anniversary of my Mom’s passing and it doesn’t get easier.
But we “kids” must and do press on and I think that’s how our parents would like it!
Best always,
– Peter
