OK- It’s on every voice over actor’s mind…..the demo. As soon as you have one, poof, a whole bunch of time fies by and you need to freshen it up. I re-do mine now about once a year. It’s great when you have a bunch of material. So I have a new Commercial and a new Promo demo that’s almost ready. Then I’ll update the narrations, Characters, Imaging, and God knows whatever else there is. Man I could work all day & all night and still never be done, But that’s cool. Life is a work in progress, and work is my creative palette. My New 2007 Commercial demo is loaded up here at: http://www.voices.com/studiofiles/ma/bobbinbeam/11732_Bobbin_Beam_Comm.mp3
By the way I found the Super Soundproofing Company on the web while looking for ways to deaden my studio a little more. http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/portable_sound_control_room.htm This page shows plans for a build-it-yourself isolation booth.
Well it just so happens that this place is nearby, so I drove there and checked them out. They sell the parts, you build it. My room sound is pretty good, but I need to get rid of the fan noise from my telos zephyr and I am trying to enclose it in a foam-lined, yet ventillated case.
Bobbin:
Your new demo is great. Insipiration for the newbie like me.

Hi Bobbin,
I was just at your Voices.com website and listened to your new commercial demo.
Bravo!
I’m really looking forward to meeting you at the VOICE Conference in a few weeks. Carol and Laurynda too 🙂
I’m going to link to your post here on VOX Daily. You make a very good point – it’s time for people to update their commercial demos, perhaps some audio spring cleaning!
Take care,
Stephanie
