Photos can really speak for the progress we’ve made thus far on the sound booth, so without further adieu….
This is where my current set up is situated. It’s located in our family office and inside the armoire that has a built-in computer desk. I’ll be moving the couch (far left) into the living room once the sound booth is ready.
Inside view of armoire, where space is extremely tight. Studio foam lines the inner walls, thus creating a pretty dead sound. Problem is fan noise from the laptop and my Telos Zephyr ISDN terminal, which resides below the desktop on a built-in shelf. Ergonomics are also a chalenge, especially when I spend 8+ hours/day recording and editing. Some days my shoulders feel as tight as rocks!
Here’s the wood base floor and ceiling beng assembled…..
…painted and siliconed……
and more paint to seal the wood…
a preliminary fit of component pieces….. and a door is added…………
Carpet is now being applied to the exterior walls.
So that’s where things are at as of today, April 29, 2007 at 12 Noon.
Hi Bobbin, nice to meet you at VOICE07! I found you through Bob Souer’s blog (Thanks, Bob!). I haven’t seen it mentioned, but could you share the cost of materials for the DawsBooth, please? Thanks, John Pruden – Visit http://www.johnpruden.com 😉
Hi John,
Yes, it was really great meeting you too! Thanks for your comment, and for visiting my little blog. The booth is not ready yet, but I will be definitely sharing cost info here. Very shortly….. I’ll list costs-to-date. Probably tomorrow. I am helping my daughter get ready for her junior prom right now! YIKES! She looks gorgeous!
