I really haven’t been just “sitting it out for a while”. I’ve been busy with life, too. For the last week, it’s been all about our youngest daughter, who graduated from high school Thursday evening, and now my husband and I are totally exhausted.
But it’s been fun, too. Right on the heels of finals in mid-May, came various awards banquets; the music department awards, (I baked cookies for that one) senior awards, senior breakfast, shuttling family to and from from the airport, hosting grad night dinner for family then my daughter’s grad night ,- a safe & sober all-nighter of fun immediately following graduation (we had to pick her up promptly at 5:30 AM), then the party we hosted here last night, baccalaureate mass and brunch this morning hosted by our chuch community.
A wide range of emotions crept up on our daughter over the last few weeks, and now it’s over. A diploma isn’t an end. It’s the beginning, the commencement of the next step in one’s education.
I myself have been ruminating where and how I’d like to take the next step in my voice over career. I’d like to “graduate” to the next level and “commence” to enhance my career, which I know can be done. As for education, that is a continuous quest for me. I am really looking forward to Voice 2008 for an out and out mind-blowng v-o learning, and networking experience.
I’m in the process of having a new commercial demo put together by someone other than myself, for a change. Hopefully a good “commencement” of my own. I can take on the world, but not all at once!
But first……a nap!
