SPRING TRAINING 2009: Impressions & Images from San Francisco

by | Training, Voice Over

My husband, Pete & I just returned from an excellent weekend in San Francisco. Arriving early Friday afternoon, we used the very efficient muni rail system from the sirport to get around. We arrived around noon to the Hotel and checked in, which had a screaming fast  high-speed internet connection, included in the price of the room. Loved that very important amenity, for sure! The hotel was right next door to CBS Interactive, maker of amazing video games. From the hotel room, I could peer into nicely apointed offices and conference rooms, many of which were furnished with several video screens.

The lobby at CBS Interactive features a silvery sculpture that looks like an inflated-bubbly looking Christmas tree ornament.

My Voiceover workshop with Elaine Clark was a quick 10-15 minute walk. When I arrived at VoiceOne, I was greeted with
my mentor, actor and author extraodinaire. I felt like I knew her, and gave her a hug. There were 5 participants in addition to me, all at varying levels of voiceover proficiency. Many were involved with some professional and community theater. I think I was the only one who had a home studio set up, and who worked full-time at voice-over.  Elaine started the class promptly at noon.

Note the very cool dimensional microphone wall hanging above the console.

More  on the class tomorrow, with more amazing photos from San Francisco.
