Turns out I have a fractured distal phalanx, the bone at the tip of the finger. I’ll be using a splint and it’ll take about 5-6 weeks to heal fully. In the meantime, I will “hunt and peck” at the keyboard, and perform audio editing and right click with alternate digits!
How did this happen you may be wondering? Well I was kayaking at the Oceanside Harbor last Saturday, and we came to a brief stop at the end of one of the floating docks, which are held in place by concrete pylons that have rubber rollers. I was obliviously holding on to the roller when the surge pinned my finger between the pier and concrete pylon. I couldn’t pull it free until someone heard me screaming and rushed on to the pier to release me.
It is painful to even think about it, or what may have occured if nobody came to see what my screams were about. Yeouch!
Wow! What can I say? So glad you’ll now be on the mend. And thank God, someone was there to hear you!!! Take care dear…
Hi Bobbin!
Godspeed on your recovery. That does sound painful.
Best wishes,
Stephanie
