A free online Talking Dictionary of English Pronunciation
I had a BEAR of a job last week, consisting of some 3,000 medical terms.
I’m familiar with a lot of medical terminology, so I guess that’s one of my niche specialties. However, I do get stumped sometimes. Here are a few of the goodies that had to just “roll” off my tongue:
cicatricial pemphigoid
cholinergic
griseofulvin
I by chance happened upon howjsay.com, a free online dictionary of English pronunciations where you simply type in the word and hold your cursor over the word and you hear the pronunciation. And it has a ton of medical terms.
Hi Bobbin,
If you’ve got an iPodTouch or phone, howjsay also has an app that you can put on your device! Yeah, you’re right, it’s a very cool and helpful site.
Cheers…
