Thanksgiving Challenge #3

by | General

Today  was a beautiiful sunny day. We had another mini-Thanksgiving here at the house, as yesterday was spent at my nephew’s place. We made our own turkey today so we could have some of out own leftovers.  The girls went shopping and I did a couple of VO  things. Later we built a fire outside and hung out, followed by a hot game of monopoly. Two hours into it, we decided to take a break until tomorrow.

For me, I’m not doing too well in the game but hanging in there. My husband is buying property, houses and hotels, while I hold my cash flow, by luck, the Community Chest and by chance.  How similar to real life lessons this funny little game holds.

I am wrestling with cash flow right now in the game and in life. Some real life real estate issues are forcing me to look at every expenditure with a keen eye.

I am thankful that must watch my expenses, and that I even have cash saved to watch over and conserve right now. This time of year, when shelters are opening and food bank donations are low, I made a donation to one of my favorite public organizations today as well.

It is better to give than to receive.
