Since I’m not in school or have kids in school any more, I really don’t consider much about “Spring Break” but this year’s experience has become an unexpected  and pleasant surprise.

I just happened to schedule a visit to my daughter  & grand kids in the Denver area and celebrate a little one’s birthday. It just so happens to be “Spring Break”, and it’s turned out great!

Yes, I’ve used the Audio Technica 2020 for a TV spot that’ll air in So. Cal and another short piece that was sent to the UAE. I’d never used the mic before but I found it to perform flawlessly. I haven’t worked  with this microphone in a real life on the road production situation, so I am pleased.

I used the tiny closet in the bedroom to record. I placed a blanket across the door and then closed the door to record. There was no light , so I set up the mic inside the closet, ran  Adobe Audition on the laptop placed just outside the closet (so as to avoid any fan noise), and read the scripts from the blackberry. I used some noise reduction in post edit, and it sounded pretty good.
Man I LOVE technology.

There was of course so time made for fun and a trip to the Vail , Colorado area for a little R&R. Here’s a view from our hotel.  I’m heading back to San Diego tomorrow, where my real booth and some more longer-form scripts await .
