Friday, June 3, 2011
Concert
Hall
Video showings take place on the
hour at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Awards begin at 7
p.m.
Produced in
partnership with the Escondido Union School District (EUSD) the Escondido Youth
Media Festival gives EUSD students the opportunity to enter digital Video,
Photography, and Music/Audio media projects for consideration by expert
judges. The event includes a showing of all works nominated for
prizes and an awards ceremony that is an experience unto itself! This year,
exhibitors from related fields will give visitors more ways to learn about the
world of digital media. Free and open to the public, the Festival will feature a
raffle drawing for all EUSD students who attend.
Business,
communications, and every other aspect of our life is now managed through
computers and increasingly, hand-held devices. This event
showcases the amazing prowess of EUSD students in all grades as they use these
emerging tools to advance their learning and development.
Prior to the Awards, the
Escondido Education Foundation invites you to join other future-minded folks
committed to building social capital in Escondido at the 2nd Annual Gizmo’s and
Gadgets fundraiser. Your attendance helps foster innovation in K-8
public classrooms through highly-effective technology programs and other
innovative learning in the Escondido Union School District.

The California Center
for the Arts, Escondido is proud to host this event as part of the Educational
Tax Sharing Partnership. Local school districts including the
Escondido Union School District, Escondido Union High School District, San
Marcos Unified School District and Palomar Community College all benefit from
using the Center’s performance venues during the school year at no rental costs
to the partner schools. Theater operational costs including
stagehands and equipment, ushers and ticket office staff are funded through the
Center’s general operating budget. Last year, over 11,000 people
attended performances in support of our local students’ music, dance, and drama
programs.
Thanks for the heads up. My husband and I have already bought our tickets and are excited to go!
