In case you missed this in several of the Facebook discussions, here’s the link to the front page
LA Times article  from yesterday’s edition that discusses a perceived trend that “celebrities” are taking all the voiceover jobs away from the working pros.

Stars Muffle The Voice of Experience

One of my  voice coaches,  Harvey Kalmenson at Kalmenson & Kalmenson voice-casting in Burbank rants in an open letter to Joe Flint, the article’s writer on the topic.

My opinion, is varied. Yes, celebs are working more in animation, films, games, commercials, and even audiobooks.  Just look at this year’s Audies finalists!

Never fear…There is still plenty of work for the working pros.

And not all agencies will have the budget to hire A-list actors.

Life goes on!

  2. Ed,
I couldn’t agree more. Further, I must let it all go. After all I must make peace with the fact that the decision-makers are in control of the outcome. I appreciate your input.
    Best,
    Bobbin
