The Networking Voice Talent

Here are some great thoughts on networking inspired by small business expert, Tory Johnson.

“Elevator Speech”

Keep it short, and remember it’s not about you. Make it about your audience and adjust it to your audience demographic and psychographic.

Choose Your Events

Stop attending events that don’t attract your target prospects, or that “preach to the choir”

What Networking Isn’t

Networking is not a “sell-a-thon”, but is a way of expanding your connections.

Business Card Exchange

My famous friend who does the voice of Porky Pig, Bob Bergen says to request more business cards than you give out. And thereafter, be sure to follow up and connect via social media.

Best Practices

Speaking of social media, networking this way is here to stay.   Here’s an excellent  article in the latest Success Magazine by Guy Kawasaki, “One Guy’s Top 10 Tips for Modern Marketing”Short, sweet and definitely on point! See it here.

Don’t leave the event without introducing yourself to at least three others. More times than not, you’ll end up with a new “nugget”- a resource or idea that will help push your voice over talent business forward.

You’ll only get to move forward if you put yourself out there!
