The end of 2017 is upon us.

So let’s be honest. How many of all those shiny New Year’s resolutions made almost a full year ago  fell off your wagon by Valentine’s day? Yes. It happens to just  about all of us. I was, however keeping up with my fitness goals and lost fifteen. As a result, other things I promised myself about my business goals didn’t make it all the way. I can focus on just a few goals or lose certain bad habits over time.

Wash, rinse, and repeat.

And here’s something to ponder: I write this on  the final Friday of 2017. Monday marks the New Year. I’m thinking a lot about something I heard today from one of my mentors, Darren Hardy.  He speaks of how important it is to consider how to end something before beginning another thing. (Yea, like a New Year)

So the key to moving forward is to take away things before adding new ones. Such as…new ideas, new goals, projects, and…our old pals, (insert eye rolls here)…new year’s resolutions.

Therefore, we need to make room for the new things to come. I love easing stress and say  “no” to a lot asked of me lately. I’m clearing my desk off today, tidying up and whittling down my ever-present to-do list. I’m reconsidering everything in my approach to life, love, and work. I’m ready for a change. Its the end of 2017. So bring on 2018!

Therefore, when we reflect over the past year, we must conclude that we can’t go back and create another beginning. But we DO have control about its ending. Maybe letting go of things, even relationships, bad habits or over-commitments, high-maintenance clients, etc. . I’m saying goodbye to 2017 in a positive way for me. I’m becoming my own best friend. And moreso every day.

I wish you all a Happy New Year, AND Happy New YOU!

The End.
